Hey Jeff this is just a suggestion but Will and I thought of maybe putting 2 tables together to make a 12'x4' and run multiple games at the same time depicting the coastal assault and the other end the inland para assault.

That sounds good to me, I'm up for that. I have two lists ready to go, one Fortified list for the beach and one Infantry list for the bridge assault. And I'll be playing Germans.

So Jeff has allowed me to run a German mech list to attack the pesky American Paratroopers holding the bridge. Jeff will try for his third year in a row holding the beach against the stubborn allies. This will be a fun event. Will

Temis will be pushed back into the sea. Joey will eat allot of lead. It's going to be a great day. Jeff is a Master at beach defense. I am a master at attack. Seems like a good day for the Germans.

So are we actually playing the Seize & Hold Mission or am I starting the game in prepared positions holding off Will's counter attack? I ask this because depending on wether or not there is night rules and if I have scattered reserves my tactics and list will change. For example if I don't have reserves coming in on gliders after the parachute platoons come on the board that means I don't have to worry about immoble support options like arty getting into position. And if there is no night rules I may employ airsupport since they could be effective turn 1. Either way, I don't mind playing a house version of what ever you guys want to do, I just want to be on the same page so I can adjust my list. -Joe

So, as I mentioned earlier in this thread, you guys will be playing a home brew game. The para's will be holding the bridge that they took from the Germans with a surprise assault, and the Germans will be trying to take back the key piece of real estate. For the specifics of the game, I think a straight up assault by the Germans against the dug in para's will be an intense and bloody game. The game length will coincide with the beach assault, which will probably last about 2.5 hrs. The Germans will fully have to take back the bridge for a victory, as even if the para's are dug in on one side, they are holding ground and denying the Germans use of a strategically important bridge. As far as scoring, that we can come up with together on the day, and see what Will and Joe would like to do as opponents.
Thanks, Jeff

Unfortunately, Will is unable to make it tomorrow. As the only German player, I will still bring my fortress company for beach defense. I'll try and put together another list to play against Joe for the bridge. But, it may be a short changed day.

I was planning to make a detailed After Action Report on the modified version of Surrounded Jeff and I played depicting the Airborne troopers holding a bridge against counter attack, but I can't seem to upload the photos to this forum due to their file size. If anyone knows of another website I can put up the AAR I will put the link on here.

Joe & I battled it out on Saturday as the sole combatants. The Americans secured a sound victory over the Germans in defense of a strategically important bridge. The Paratroopers held fast against an early, and aggressive German offensive. Well done Joe, you played a good game.
