The new season of D&D Encounters starts on August 20th and will take place every Wednesday night throughout the fall! Using the new D&D Next rules, the Tyranny of Dragons campaign will take players from levels 1-4 through an epic adventure path.
There's no need to pre-register, but if you want to let us know so we can expect a certain headcount please do so! The more the merrier, this system is designed to run multiple groups and each session will only last 2-3 hours at most.

Hey everyone, if folks are looking to get the Wednesday evening group restarted I'm happy to continue as DM. I'm available this evening if people are around- just add a quick post here so everyone can see if we've got enough. If not we can try for next week. I'll be at the store this evening either way. New players are always welcome.
All characters should be minimum of level 3; if you're not then level up to three. There will also be some XP rewards for anyone who completed the last section of the campaign.
In other news, while I am quite happy to continue as DM I'd also be happy to either Co-DM or let another person take over if they are interested. Jeff is sadly busy for the time being. While I enjoy being a DM I don't want to hold anyone back if they are interested.

Sorry I won't be able to make it. I'm overseas this week, and Peydron is really just a sheet of paper stuck in a folder zipped inside a backpack, so he, too, won't be able to attend without my help. Hope you get a quorum in order to keep rolling Steve! -John

Perhaps I'll be able to DM again in the summer. However, due to current work constraints, I am currently unavailable. Best of luck Steve, I hope you can pull in some additional help.

Hey folks, we didn't quite get a quorum last week (though we were close) but we should be able to for tomorrow.
Everyone who played in the last session before the Holidays should get 600 XP and 1 Faction Point. Anyone who missed the last session but was part of the investigation into the dragon hatchery should be 200 XP and 1 Faction Point.

Just to confirm, Steve is not feeling well but we WILL have Encounters at the normal time of 6PM tonight with a substitute GM and a standalone adventure to bridge the gap between the last sessions and the next!

What's standard protocol for joining a game? I'm toying with the idea of bringing my nephew with me to start D&D Encounters. Is there anything I should know before I do that? Can the Black Moon group support two more people showing up?

Both of our groups have quite a few players in them, but there's always room for more! Just show up like 10 minutes early to make a character.

Thanks Tony. Is it like Society where I have to own a book?

No, but I wouldn't turn down a sale if you want a book!

Let's not be hasty, now. We'll see how I like 5e first.

Keeping the question train rolling, is it cool for me to show up with a character I've made following the Adventurers League rules and just have it checked by the DM? I feel pretty confident building a character using the free basic rules.
Also, who DMs Encounters? Anybody I know?

Kevin Wagner and Keith Harrison. Feel free to bring a character and see what they think.
