Hello fellow gamers. I've been working up a homebrew campaign/world in D&D 4th, but playing D&D Encounters has made me interested in running my campaign in 5th. It's set in a semi-post-apocalyptic fantasy land - think the D&D version of Mad Max (arid land, wandering bands of ne'er-do-wells, limited resources, occasional 'cities,' with monsters). I'm planning to run it heavy on role-playing (and not just stabbing monsters, though there will be plenty of that) with a lot of storyline. The Lounge at Black Moon is fairly open on the weekends, so I'm planning to run it on Sundays from noon-4ish (pending Tony's approval). The idea is similar to D&D Encounters: drop in to play when you can, and the story will move on with whoever can make it on any given game day. If you're interested, respond to this post.

For those who want to know more of the story before jumping in:
Tyrrannon was once ruled by a king named Varaedon. He was a devout follower of Erathus, the Goddess of Civilization. It was rumored that he took Her high priestess, Vaerna, as his consort. He may have. What is known, though, is that Vaerna was Varaedon's most trusted advisor. The kingdom prospered and grew under his seventeen year rule. Myth has it that Melora, Goddess of the Wilderness and Sea, grew jealous of Erathus' hold on Tyrrannon and the encroachment of its cities into her realms of woods and wilds. She devised a plan to bring Tyrrannon low for its betrayal of her ways. She chose to prey upon the weaknesses of some of her fellow gods and goddesses. She first approached Kord, god of battle and the weather, pointing to the peace of Tyrrannon and how it no longer revered battle or respected the weather. She convinced Him to subject the kingdom to a long drought, interspersed with sudden, violent, and devastating storms so the people of Tyrrannon would fear and revere Him again, as call upon His name as they waged war for scarce resources. Next, she approached Sehanine, patron Goddess of trickery and illusions. She convinced Sehanine to sow rumors among the nobles of several of the largest cities within Tyrrannon, creating distrust and disunity. Finally, she approached the Raven Queen, Spinner of Fate and Goddess of Death. She pointed to Tyrrannon's pride, especially Varaedon's, and convinced the Raven Queen that he and his realm must be brought low. The Raven Queen wove the death of many into her tapestry of fate and brought pestilence upon Tyrranon, claiming the lives of many, including Vaerna.
Soon, war erupted within Tyrrannon, with the nobles and leaders of several city-states vying with each other for resources or seeking to settle perceived slights. Varaedon tried to hold onto power and quell the violence, but he was ultimately overthrown. Twenty years of war and strife followed. Only a few city-states survived - Niiravo and Orranell, mountain strongholds; Kaarysh and Orvynyia, walled cities in the scrub wastes that were once productive farmland; and Vormysh, surrounded by marshland. Many, including the once prominent port city of Algamesh, were reduced to vacant ruins.
Melora's plan worked too well - the cities were destroyed, yes, but the land grew arid and the forests that remained died; they did not reclaim the land as She had expected. Kord and Sehanine saw how they had been used, and refused to reverse the mayhem they had caused as Melora's bidding. The Raven Queen merely shrugged her shoulders and said: "Death will claim them all for me, and I will not alter their fates further."
Fifty years have passed since the wars finally reached their end. Small skirmishes may erupt once in awhile, but these are no longer common as they once were. Those few cities that remain are ruled by those able to make some order from the chaos. Some do try to see to their people as best they can. Others are no more than upjumped petty thugs bent on domination of all those around them.
Travel among the cities is virtually unheard of. It is not safe. If bandits don't get you, untold beasts and monsters will. Still, there are those who move goods and resources among the cities. They are tough and well trained and probably crazy. Only they know what lurks outside city walls in Tyrrannon now...

Hello All,
The plan is to start up our weekly campaign again this Sunday (12/11) starting at noon. I wanted to try to get an idea of how many can still make it.
Hope you all had great holidays!
