Hello, Its been a while since I've played. I used to play German eastern front lists. A few years ago my wife and I came down for a game day and had a blast, she even went out and bought a bunch of LW Finns! For some reason we never made it back down and the Finns sat in our closet still in their packages... Well, while I was painting other miniatures, she decided she wanted to learn to paint as well and started with her Finns. So now we have a painted Finnish army and need to test them out How often do you folks play? Do you play V3 or V4? I have the V4 rules but have yet to look through them. I am familiar with V3. Are there any regular Russian players we could test them against? Would you be willing to play V3? Or should we go ahead and read up on V4? It may be asking for a lot as no one knows me and I am not a regular player with you folks... But I was thinking at some point a 2v2 eastern front game would be fun! Brad Carey P.S. I used to play at a game shop in West Leb. NH. People who played there may remember me!

Brad,
I remember you at the old store and you have plenty of players that would love to play version 3 with you. I was waiting for the new crew that converted to version 4 to respond to you. They are like crickets to your call. I am Will and I am the 2016 Masters player for Blackmoon Games that ended 12th in the rankings for 2016 US Masters last year.
I have soviets and Temis has soviets. We like to play version 3 of the rules. I will be glad to have Temis on my side as the Soviets.

Awesome! I would love to play with both of you guys! It will be great to see familiar faces.
Let me know when you want to play. Our schedules are in a bit of a state of flux at the moment, but I'm sure we can work something out.

I used to play at a game shop in West Leb. NH. People who played there may remember me! Hi Brad, My name is Jeff, glad to see you're interested in playing some Flames of War. We have a small, but die hard community at Black Moon Games. A lot of us have moved on to the new V4 edition and would gladly play a game with you. However, V3 is still in fresh in our minds if you prefer to play that. I've been playing V4 since it's release earlier this year, and I can say that it is definitely easier to get into for a new player, or in your case, for someone who hasn't played in a long time. The rules are less to digest and get you into the action quicker than V3, in my opinion. In any case, as long as you want to play and enjoy the game, then please post on the forum that you're looking for a game, and which edition you'd like to try, and someone will meet up with you to play when they can. Thanks, and take care. -Jeff

Hi Jeff!
I think we've met once back in 2015 when we came to a single game day. I'm not sure though.
I would love to play some V4 and see how that is, but I am also glad that there are some people who still play V3 while I get back into the swing of things.
Are you folks in Leb? or Rutland? I see there are two stores.
Anyway, I hope to play with you soon!
Brad

Hi, like Jeff said we all remember V3 and most of us have adopted V4. What ever version you would like to play we can accommodate it, the main point is have fun and post up when you're available. We're based out of West Lebanon store and we check the forums frequently, last week I was on vacation but we're always monitoring. If you would like to see how V4 is be played come by the store this Saturday and check out the tournament. V4 is fun to play and the learning curve is easier than V3 so it's much more assessable for new/dormant players. See you around! -Joe

Brad,
Flames of War has been in flux with a major rule change from V3 to V4. The old school players that you know prefer version 3 over version 4. The older guys that brought Flames of War to Lebanon do not like V4. I am happy that the younger generation has taken to version 4. They are the future of Flames of War if it's going to survive in Lebanon. I salute them, even if I do not agree with the new rules.

I figured as much Will, from what I've read. That some players still prefer V3 I mean. My plan is to try and be well versed in both so that I can play with either. That way I can play with whoever wants to play. I'm pretty easy going and think I can separate them enough to view them as different experiences. I like V3, its fun, but I'm sure I can like V4 for what it offers as well ^_^
On a side note, do you ever see "Old Steve", he was my first opponent and I bought a lot of my Germans from him. I would like to play him again some day.
