The below in yesterday from Chris Campbell, of Montpelier. As I don't have his permission to stick his e-mail on a bulletin board, please express interest to me, Carl Ellis, at megellis1@tds.net or 2606 West Hill Rd., Roxbury VT 05669 (I hate being yelled at by the telephone). If you e-mail me I can FW to Chris so you can keep up with his scheduling efforts straight from the source.
Folks,
I'm a little late in scheduling my annual house game of Diplomacy this year, but it is in the works. As usual, I've got room for one or two boards, and we will have lunch and/or dinner and a good time. I'm looking at the weekend that straddles the end of February and the beginning of March this year. I'm looking to see who can might be able to make either that Saturday or Sunday. If you are interested, let me know. I'll try to pick a day that allows for maximum participation.
The last couple of years we've had new players. I think that it is a good thing to expand the pool of possible players, and I'd like to encourage it. One bit of feedback I got was that as some new players felt a little overwhelmed I'm thinking of holding a quicker teaching game of Gunboat before the main game, either early in the day or the day before the main event. (That might also push the start of the main game back a little later in the day.) If you are an experienced player and would be interested in spending a little extra time getting new players more comfortable with how the game works, please let me know. If you know any new or inexperienced players (or are one) who might enjoy and benefit from a teaching game, please let me know and/or send them my way.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
