Heya folks
To celebrate the launch of Twenty Festivals, the latest Legend of the Five Rings CCG base set, Black Moon Games will be hosting two great limited format events.
On Sunday April 5th at 1pm, there will be a Sealed Deck tournament. All players will receive a random 20F starter deck, although players may exchange their unopened starter with another player before the event begins. Players can customize their decks with the three 20F boosters supplied with the starter deck or just run the preconstructed starter as is. There will be promos for everyone who attends, and two 20F boosters will go into the prize pool for each player present.
Saturday April 11th will see a 20F Draft tournament, starting slightly at 2pm. Players will draft using four 20F boosters, and again there will be promos for everyone who attends along with two boosters added into the prize support pool per player.
If you plan on attending either event, please contact either the store or myself and let us know so we can make sure there is plenty of product for anything! If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to contact Tony at the store or send me a PM.
Join us as we celebrate twenty years of L5R! UTZ!

A quick word on the Sealed Deck event - these decks are completely pre-constructed and ready to play out of the tin. They come with three 20F boosters so you can customize the deck if you feel comfortable doing so, but are perfectly playable with no modification, making them perfect for new players. They are also packed full of cool rares, making them excellent value.
These two factors mean Sealed Deck play is extremely new player friendly, so if you're thinking of giving L5R a try, this is the perfect opportunity. To make it even better, I'm offering 10 random rares to every participant taking part in the first L5R event. Come along, try the game out, and score lots of cool cards!

Just a quick bump for the Sealed on Sunday. The starter decks look fantastic, and are packed with cool cards. It should be a great event!
If you are planning on attending either event (especially the Sealed, which is being held on Easter Sunday), please let us know! That way we can ensure there is enough stock and enough interest to run the event!

Looking forward to seeing folks in a few hours! I'm aiming to be around from 12pm or so with trades and a couple of 20F Arc decks.

Thanks to everyone who made it! Even with the family holiday, we still saw five hearty souls turn up to compete. We played round robin, and for the second Black Moon L5R event in a row, Chris Medico took the win. Here are the final standings:
1st Chris Medico (Dragon) 4-0 2nd Mark Armitage (Lion) 3-1 3rd Devin Bell (Mantis) 2-2 4th Alan Sarkasian (Scorpion) 1-3 5th Tonya Segee (Crab) 0-4
Black Moon Games donated ten boosters to be split between the players, along with the event kit containing Clan dice, an L5R Love Letter, and promotional/alternate art cards, so everybody left with a nice pile of swag.
The general consensus on the starter decks was very positive. Chris actually started Ring of Air in each of his games and had a genuine shot at Enlightenment, which is a fantastic achievement in limited play.
The second half of the Black Moon Gamers Twenty Festivals Release Event takes place on Saturday with a 20F Draft. There are still plenty of promos to give away, and the prize support will be generous as always.
UTZ!
